Favorite campgrounds

Do you have a favorite campground for your Airstream or other vintage camper?

One of my favorites is Rock Crusher Canyon in Crystal River Florida, very nice campground with lots to see and do nearby.

Desoto Park in St. Pete Florida is another great spot, you can get sites right on the water, fish from your own site, not to mention all the other activities the area has to offer, book early though, this one stays booked.

Feel free to send in your favorites.

1962 Airstream Flying Cloud

This beauty was already in good original condition, a second unit for a previous customer, we added; new fridge & custom oak cabinet, A/C and water heater was replaced, along with some new woodwork. Ext. skin polish, new aluminum tanks, new windows, screens and seals, repaired some wiring problems and she is set to go on an adventure.

1971 Airstream Globetrotter 21'

One of the best models to find is the Globetrotter, everything you need in a small package.
This one was remodeled at one time with a "custom" interior to put it politely.
I bought this one because the skin was in excellent condition and just needed polishing, came with new wheels tires and axle from the previous owner so it just needed a new interior and appliances. The subfloor was in excelent shape, with just one soft spot in the rear bath area so I replaced the the last 4'. In 1971 Airstream went to particle board in place of the solid & plywood interior construction, so it was all replaced with oak hardwood and oak plywood, better than new, with a solid cherry wood floor.

Past projects 1947 Spartan Manor 25'

This beauty was found in the woods while hunting, long abandoned, it was in surprisingly good condition, a few birch panels where replaced, one section of exterior aluminum as well, original water heater was still working and a new AC unit was added, original craftsmanship is amazing on these things.

1963 Airstream Flying Cloud, before

Well it has been quite a while since I have started an Airstream project, just have been trying to make ends meet in this economy at my "real job" but I am now ready to slowly ease into the restoration of the 1963 Flying cloud. The exterior skin is in good condition with a few minor beauty marks, have done a little polishing over the last months. Next will be gutting the interior and prepping for floor replacement.
